Open the setup guideWhat's In These Docs
This documentation covers everything from initial setup through chart review and historical strategy testing. The sidebar groups content into four buckets: Getting Started for setup and concepts, Indicator Reference for deep dives on each of the 14 indicators (settings, logic, best-use cases), Chart Studies for comparing indicators in educational examples, and Help for FAQ and troubleshooting.
If you're brand new, follow the Getting Started flow in order. If you're already a member and looking up a specific indicator, jump to the Indicator Reference. If something isn't behaving the way you expect, check Troubleshooting first.
Who SMRT Algo Is Built For
The tools are designed for self-directed TradingView users who want to review chart conditions in one workspace. Supported inputs, chart types and timeframes vary by tool, data feed and TradingView plan.
Chart markers describe conditions calculated by the software. They are not personalized recommendations, predictions or instructions to place trades. You decide whether and how to use the information; trading can result in losses.

Top Questions
The most common things new and prospective members ask. For the full list, see the FAQ page.
How do I get access to SMRT Algo?
After subscribing on smrtalgo.com, submit your TradingView username in the members portal. Once access is granted, find the tools under TradingView’s Invite-Only Scripts tab.
Why can't I find SMRT Algo in TradingView search?
Our indicators are not indexable in TradingView's search bar. To find them, open the Indicators dialog → click the Invite-Only Scripts tab in the left sidebar → scroll to find them.
Does SMRT Algo repaint?
Closed-bar markers are intended to use completed-candle data. Live candles, higher-timeframe inputs, pivot confirmation, changed settings or data revisions can affect what appears on a chart. Check the behavior of the specific tool and version; historical displays do not establish live performance.
Do I need a paid TradingView account?
TradingView plans have different limits for indicators, alerts and historical data. Check TradingView’s current plan details against the tools you want to use. A SMRT Algo subscription does not include a TradingView subscription.
What's the difference between Essential and Pro?
Essential includes 9 indicators. Pro adds 5 advanced ones — Pro V5, Smart Money Toolkit, SMRT Oscillator, SMRT Volume Profile, and the Multi-Asset Screener.

How It Works
SMRT Algo is delivered as a set of invite-only Pine Script indicators that you add to your TradingView charts. There is no separate platform, browser extension, or desktop app — once your TradingView account is linked, the indicators appear inside TradingView itself under Indicators → Invite-Only Scripts.
The system is structured as a coordinated family of 14 indicators. Each one is a self-contained module with its own purpose (marker core, structure mapping, momentum oscillation, volume profiling, screening), and they're designed to be readable side-by-side on the same chart without visual clutter.
You can combine a small set of tools on a chart and use Multi-Asset Screener for an overview of other supported charts. Your TradingView plan may limit the number of tools you can display.

Indicators → Invite-Only Scripts.
Your First Chart Setup
Once access is granted, add Pro V5 or Pro V4, depending on your plan, to a chart you want to review. Use the steps below to inspect the display rather than to place a trade.
- Open a supported TradingView chart and choose a timeframe to review.
- Click Indicators at the top → click on the Invite-Only Scripts tab in the left sidebar of the dialog.
- Scroll through the list and click Pro V5 (or V4) to add it to your chart.
- Wait for the next candle to close. If a marker fires, you'll see arrows printed on the chart with entry, stop-loss, and take-profit levels.
The Confluence Engine
Pro V5 combines momentum, volume, volatility, market-structure and trend-bias inputs. The configured conditions and thresholds determine when a chart marker appears. Agreement between inputs is not a probability of success.
The Five Factors
- Momentum — directional pressure measured by adaptive volume-weighted momentum.
- Volume — relative volume vs. recent baseline, including divergence detection.
- Volatility — current ATR positioning and expansion/contraction state.
- Market Structure — break-of-structure events, swing high/low integrity.
- Trend Bias — higher-timeframe trend filter that gates counter-trend markers.
The settings control which conditions must be met before a marker appears. More restrictive settings can reduce marker frequency; they do not establish better accuracy or profitability.
Closed-Bar Output & Repainting
Review whether the tool uses completed candles, live candles, higher-timeframe data or confirmed pivots. These can update at different times. A pivot may only be identified after later bars have formed.
Changing inputs, chart history, timeframe or data source can change historical output. Compare historical charts with live or replay observations using the same version and settings. Do not treat a historical marker as proof that it was available at that moment in live trading.
Chart Markers & Reference Levels
Depending on enabled settings, Pro V5 can display these chart elements:
| Element | What It Tells You |
|---|---|
| ▲ / ▼ arrow | Direction of the marker — long or short. |
| Entry line | Calculated reference price for the displayed setup; not an instruction to enter. |
| SL line | Calculated stop reference; not an executed order or guaranteed loss limit. |
| TP1 line | First calculated target reference; price may never reach it. |
| TP2 line | Second calculated target reference; not a promised result. |
| TP3 line | Third calculated target reference; displaying it does not close a position. |
Displayed levels are calculation outputs for review. They are not orders or personalized instructions. Actual fills, slippage, gaps and costs can differ from chart levels; a stop level does not cap the loss you may experience.
Setting Up Alerts
Supported SMRT Algo tools provide TradingView chart alerts. Configure notifications for the chart conditions you want to monitor, using the delivery options available for your tool and TradingView plan. This page explains alert setup and notification settings.
Quick Setup — Step By Step
- Add the SMRT Algo indicator you want alerts on (e.g. Pro V4) to your TradingView chart.
- Right-click anywhere on the chart and select Add Alert, or click the Alert button (clock icon) at the top of the chart.
- In the Condition dropdown, scroll down and select the SMRT Algo indicator (e.g. "Pro V4 — SMRT Algo").
- In the second dropdown, choose the alert condition — Buy Signal, Sell Signal, Confirmed Buy, Confirmed Sell, or Any Alert, depending on the indicator.
- Set the Trigger to
Once Per Bar Close— where supported, to evaluate completed-bar conditions rather than changing intrabar readings. - Pick your delivery method — push notification, email, popup, sound, or webhook URL.
- Click Create. You're done.
Once Per Bar Close where supported. Intrabar conditions may change before the bar closes. Confirm the behavior of your specific tool and settings.
Available Alert Conditions
The dropdown names depend on your indicator and version. The exact platform labels below are included only to help locate settings; they are not trade recommendations.
| Condition | What It Fires On |
|---|---|
Buy Signal | Standard long marker printed on the chart at candle close. |
Sell Signal | Standard short marker printed on the chart at candle close. |
| Confirmed Buy | Long-direction category with additional rule conditions; availability varies by tool. |
| Confirmed Sell | Short-direction category with additional rule conditions. |
| Strong Buy / Strong Sell | Swing Algo category for a different rule threshold; not a probability of success. |
| TP1 / TP2 / TP3 Hit | Fires when a take-profit level is hit (Swing Algo). |
| Stop Loss Hit | Fires when the SL level is hit. |
| Any Alert | Fires on every event the indicator generates — useful for webhook routing. |
Routing Alerts To Discord
For Discord webhook delivery, paste your channel's webhook URL into the Webhook URL field in TradingView's alert dialog. The default alert message format works, but for cleaner Discord embeds you can use TradingView's variable syntax in the message body:
{
"content": "🚨 SMRT Algo {{strategy.order.action}} on {{ticker}} ({{interval}}) at {{close}}"
}
Make sure your Discord webhook is set up first (Discord channel → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook → copy URL).
Common Issues
Alerts firing repeatedly on the same candle
Switch the trigger from "Once Per Bar" to Once Per Bar Close. Check the tool’s behavior with live candles and higher-timeframe inputs.
Alerts not firing at all
Double-check the condition dropdown actually points at the SMRT Algo indicator (not a different one on your chart). Also verify that alerts haven't expired — TradingView's free plan auto-expires alerts after a fixed window.
Webhook notifications not arriving
Check the webhook URL and the notification service's required message format. Confirm the TradingView alert is active and its configured condition has occurred. Some notification services require a valid JSON message.
Pro V5
Pro ExclusivePro V5 combines rule-based buy/sell chart markers, trend and market-structure views, calculated TP/SL reference levels and optional overlays. Its scores describe the configured calculations, not the likelihood of a profitable outcome.
What Pro V5 Does
The script combines many systems into one cohesive engine:
Core Features
- Trend detection — bullish or bearish bias
- Buy & sell markers with strength scoring
- Multi-timeframe analysis across 5m–1D
- Candle coloring for trend strength
- Market structure — BOS, CHoCH
- Auto Fibonacci retracement with golden pocket
- Volume strength — Weak / Normal / SMRT
- Trend strength rating (★ score)
Calculated Reference Levels
- Stop Loss (SL)
- Take Profit (TP1, TP2, TP3)

How Markers Are Generated
The marker logic runs in 4 stages on every candle close:
- Filters applied — BullFilter / BearFilter screen out noise
- Features confirmation — Features Bull Filter / Features Bear Filter add second-layer agreement
- Main trend calculation — Main Buy or Sell Trend resolved
- Final markers — Buy or Sell printed on the chart
What You See On Chart
Buy Marker
- Green label printed at candle close
- Shows: Strength, Volume, Rating (★)
Sell Marker
- Red label at candle close with the same metrics
Candle Colors
- Green — bullish strength
- Red — bearish strength
- Gradient — trend intensity
Dashboard (Optional)
- Trend per timeframe
- Strength
- Marker status
Multi-Timeframe Feature
Pro V5 simultaneously checks 5m, 15m, 30m, 1H, 4H, and 1D in the background. The dashboard surfaces trend agreement (or disagreement) across timeframes — useful for confirming whether your entry timeframe aligns with the higher-timeframe bias before you act.
First Chart Review — Step By Step
- Add the indicator to your chart.
- Keep default settings for the first session — don't tune until you understand the base behavior.
- Inspect chart markers. Compare their direction with the candle colors and Market Bias display.
- Confirm with: Market Bias zone (green/red), trend direction, volume strength.
- Review TP/SL references. Inspect how the settings change the displayed levels. They do not place orders or ensure a particular outcome.
SMRT Engineering Filters
Engineering Filters apply additional conditions before chart markers appear. Changing a filter affects timing and frequency. More restrictive settings do not make a setup safer or guarantee greater accuracy.
1. Noise Filter
Removes small random price movements (market noise).
| Direction | Effect |
|---|---|
| Increase value | Stronger filtering · fewer markers · slower (later) entries |
| Decrease value | Less filtering · more markers · faster entries · more short-lived conditions |
Use: Scalping → low value (1–3). Swing trading → higher (3–6).
2. Gap Filter
Detects and filters price gaps and sudden jumps.
| Direction | Effect |
|---|---|
| Increase value | Ignores small gaps · focuses only on big moves · cleaner trend detection |
| Decrease value | Detects even tiny gaps · more sensitive · more (noisy) markers |
Review: Compare how gap settings behave on the data and sessions in your selected chart.
3. Range Filter
Filters sideways/ranging market action using a "market steps" logic to detect trend vs. chop. This is one of the most important filters.
| Direction | Effect |
|---|---|
| Increase value | Detects only strong trends · avoids sideways markets · fewer but stronger markers |
| Decrease value | Accepts smaller trend readings · can display more markers in a range |
4. Volatility Filter
Filters trades based on market volatility (ATR-based bands).
| Direction | Effect |
|---|---|
| Increase value | Requires a higher volatility reading · can reduce marker frequency |
| Decrease value | Accepts lower volatility readings · can increase marker frequency |
Use: News trading → high value. Normal market → low/medium.
5. Trend Filter
Uses EMA + slope (ATR-based) to confirm trend direction. Two key inputs:
- EMA length — Increase: slow trend detection, very stable markers, late entries. Decrease: fast trend detection, early entries, more noise.
- Slope threshold — Increase: only strong trends allowed (very strict). Decrease: accepts weak trends, more trades.
Settings Presets
| Preset | Noise | Range | Volatility | Trend EMA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Less restrictive filtering | 1–2 | 0.3–0.5 | OFF / LOW | 50–100 |
| Intermediate filtering | 3 | 0.5 | 2–3 | 100–150 |
| More restrictive filtering | 4–6 | 0.7–1.0 | 3–5 | 150–200 |
SMRT Features Filters (Visual Overlays)
These overlays act as extra filters on markers. If enabled, the marker must agree with the overlay for it to print. If disabled, the overlay is ignored.
1. Reversal Cloud
Displays dynamic bands for reviewing price deviations. An interaction with a band does not confirm a reversal.
- Increase — wider cloud, fewer markers, only strong reversals
- Decrease — narrower cloud, more markers, more short-lived changes
Filter mode:
- None — just show the cloud visually
- Confirmation — filter for readings with the calculated direction
- Contrarian — filter for readings against the calculated direction
Example: price hits the bottom cloud → Confirmation = BUY, Contrarian = SELL.
2. Sentiment Cloud
Shows market sentiment zones — Support (bullish pressure) and Resistance (bearish pressure).
- Increase — smoother sentiment, long-term bias, fewer markers
- Decrease — fast sentiment changes, more reactive, more noise
Use: Above support → bullish. Below resistance → bearish.
3. Price Steps
Creates a step-style trend line (stair-like movement) — excellent for spotting trend continuation.
- Increase — bigger steps, strong trend only, less noise
- Decrease — smaller steps, more markers, more short-lived changes
Use: Step up → BUY trend. Step down → SELL trend.
4. Market Bias ⭐
Detects the overall market direction (the big picture). One of the strongest filters in the system.
- Increase — very slow bias, strong trend only, more delayed readings
- Decrease — fast bias changes, early entries, more short-lived changes
Filter mode:
- Confirmation — filter for readings with the trend
- Contrarian — filter for readings against the trend
- None — ignore
5. Pivot Flow
Tracks dynamic support/resistance using pivots, creating a trend line that flips direction.
- Increase — wider pivot detection, strong levels only, less noise
- Decrease — sensitive pivots, more markers, more short-lived changes
Use: Line below price → uptrend. Line above price → downtrend.

Smart Money Toolkit
Pro ExclusiveSmart Money Toolkit maps price-based patterns including order blocks, fair-value gaps, premium/discount zones, breaks of structure and liquidity-sweep patterns. These are analytical interpretations of chart data, not evidence of institutional orders or intent.
Walkthroughs
Two video walkthroughs covering how to set up the Smart Money Toolkit, what each layer means on your chart, and how to combine it with the rest of the SMRT Algo system:
Order Blocks
Order blocks are zones identified from the tool’s price-pattern rules. They do not verify institutional activity or predict where price will turn.
Manual Vs Dynamic Order Blocks
You can choose between two modes:
- Dynamic — applies additional swing-point selection rules to the displayed blocks.
- Manual — shows every detected order block. More zones, more flexibility, more noise.
Volume-Related Data
The toolkit displays volume-related estimates around detected order blocks. Their interpretation depends on the available data and calculation method; they do not identify individual buyers or sellers.
- Compare the displayed volume-related readings around a zone.
- Check for disagreement between the price pattern and the volume reading.
- These estimates do not confirm a future direction or a suitable entry.
Filtering With BoS Or CoCh
You can restrict displayed order blocks to those associated with a Break of Structure or Change of Character. This changes the selection criteria without establishing future accuracy.
Color Customization
By default, order blocks are gray. Toggle off the grayscale option and bullish blocks turn blue, bearish blocks turn red. You can customize to any color.
Change Of Character & Break Of Structure
BoS and CoCh identify trend changes and continuations in real time. The toolkit shows them on two structural levels:
- Internal market structure — smaller, intraday moves
- Swing structure — larger market shifts
Quick Definitions
- Bullish Break of Structure (BoS) — market creates a higher low, then a higher high.
- Bullish Change of Character (CoCh) — a low followed by a lower high, then a lower low (creating a bearish BoS), and finally a higher high that breaks the previous lower high.
- Bullish CoCh+ — a low occurs, followed by a lower high, then a failed lower low, and finally a higher high that breaks the previous lower high. This is a separate pattern classification, not proof of a reversal.
Fair Value Gaps (FVGs)
Fair value gaps highlight three-candle price patterns with limited overlap between the outer candles. A zone may remain unfilled or be crossed without a reversal.
Review how price interacts with the highlighted zones. You can display recent FVGs or extend them for easier comparison with other chart features.
Liquidity Sweeps
A liquidity-sweep pattern describes price moving beyond a prior high or low and returning across it. The chart pattern does not verify stop orders or explain why participants traded.
The toolkit marks qualifying sweep patterns for review. A marked pattern does not predict the next price move or identify a correct entry time.
High/Low Equilibrium Zones
The toolkit marks strong vs weak highs and lows, plus discount, equilibrium, and premium areas:
- Weak highs — highs classified as weak under the structure rules; a break is not assured.
- Strong highs — highs classified as strong under the structure rules; they can still be crossed.
- Discount zone — the lower portion of the selected range; not an estimate of fair value.
- Premium zone — the upper portion of the selected range; not a selling recommendation.
Accumulation & Distribution
Accumulation and distribution labels classify chart patterns under the tool’s rules. They do not reveal pending orders or predict a breakout direction:
- Accumulation Zone — a pattern category for chart review.
- Distribution Zone — a separate pattern category; it does not forecast a drop.
Equal Highs & Lows
Equal-high and equal-low markers highlight nearby price levels. They do not establish where stop orders are held or whether another participant intends to target them.
Multi-Timeframe Dashboard
The dashboard displays market-structure readings across configured timeframes. Compare agreement and disagreement between them; the readings do not tell you whether to hold or close a position.
Bar Coloring
Optional candle coloring reflects the tool’s current structure classification. Colors describe the calculation and are not instructions to remain in a trade.
Chart Review Example
- Add Smart Money Toolkit and choose the structure layers to display.
- Compare a highlighted zone with the surrounding price action.
- Review whether BoS or CoCh labels appear and when they become available.
- Compare other timeframes and record observations, including cases where price crosses a zone without reversing.
This example explains the interface. It is not a trading recommendation or evidence that combining these features improves results.
Multi-Asset Screener
Pro ExclusiveReviewing several charts individually can take time. The Multi-Asset Screener brings selected chart conditions into one dashboard so you can choose which charts to inspect.
The Multi-Asset Screener displays Pro V4 chart conditions across multiple markets and timeframes. Use the dashboard to identify charts to review, then open Pro V4 for a closer look at the corresponding conditions.
Walkthroughs
Two video walkthroughs covering how to configure the screener, set your watchlist and timeframes, and use it as a multi-market radar paired with Pro V4:
What The Dashboard Tracks
Once added, the screener creates a real-time dashboard with the following columns per ticker:
- Price & % Change — current price and percentage move (red = down, blue = up)
- Overall Rating — composite marker strength score (optional, toggle in settings)
- Active Buy/Sell Marker — pulled directly from the Pro V4 engine
- Exit Markers — when a current setup is invalidated
- Trend Trail Direction — bullish or bearish per ticker
- Market Stair Structure — higher highs/lows or lower highs/lows
- Trend Ribbon Direction — same as Pro V4's Trend Ribbon
- Reversal Channel Bias — overbought/oversold zone tracking
- Volatility — ATR-ratio based, helps you filter for active markets
- Strength — RSI-based trend strength on a 0–100 scale
- Multi-Timeframe Markers — Pro V4 markers on 1m, 5m, 15m, 30m, 1h, 4h, daily for each ticker
Choose the supported symbols and timeframes you want to monitor. Availability and display limits depend on the tool, data and your TradingView plan.
Pairing With Pro V4 — From Screener To Chart Review
Use the screener for an overview and Pro V4 for a detailed chart review:
- You are reviewing a chart on a 15-minute timeframe.
- On the screener, another chart shows a new bullish marker on the 1-hour timeframe.
- Trend Trail flips bullish, Trend Ribbon aligns, strength increases.
- Instead of randomly switching charts, you switch with purpose — open the corresponding 1-hour chart, review the structure and trend alignment against your own criteria.
Pro V4 deployed across multiple markets at once — without the chaos of constantly flipping charts.
Key Inputs & Settings
Bars Back
Defines how far back the screener analyzes data. Default is 500 — you can increase this (e.g. 1,000) for more historical context per ticker. Higher values give the screener more data to make calls but slow down the calculation.
Show Rating
Adds a Rating column to the dashboard with the marker strength metric. Useful when comparing multiple assets and trying to find the strongest setups. The rating shows up/down arrows indicating overall directional bias.
AI Classifier Type
Three modes (same logic as Pro V4):
- Basic — fast, aggressive. Less restrictive filtering.
- Normal — balanced. Intermediate filtering.
- Advanced — strictest filtering. Compare the resulting timing and frequency.
Sensitivity & Calibration
Pulled directly from Pro V4. Increase Sensitivity for swing-style filtering (fewer markers), decrease for scalp-style (more markers).
Trading Type
Scalp for fast, shorter-logic markers. Swing for stronger filtering with more stability. If you're a swing trader, pick Swing; if you scalp or daytrade, pick Scalp.
Enhanced Systems
The same filtering suite available in Pro V4 — Fibonacci, Linear Regression, Trend Ranges, True Range, Liquidity Ratio, Dynamic Flow, Moving Average. See the Pro V4 page for details on each filter. These mainly affect the underlying markers, not the dashboard structure.
Indicator Overlay
Toggles the additional Pro V4-derived columns on the dashboard — Trend Trail, Market Stairs, Trend Ribbon, Reversal Channel — so you can monitor multiple structural cues per ticker without flipping between charts.
Reviewing Settings
Compare settings on the chart and timeframe you intend to study. Ratings and strength percentages are internal indicator measurements, not probabilities of a successful trade.
- Select a manageable watchlist and the timeframes you want to compare.
- Inspect a dashboard condition, then open the corresponding chart.
- Check the indicator version, settings and available data.
- Record both agreement and disagreement with the surrounding chart context.
The screener organizes information for your review. It does not eliminate missed conditions, emotional decisions or trading risk.
SMRT Volume Profile
Pro ExclusiveSMRT Volume Profile displays recorded volume across price levels over a selected lookback or anchored period. High-volume nodes, low-volume nodes, value areas and points of control summarize that data; they do not establish institutional intent or predict price reactions.
Profile Types
- Rolling profile — recalculates over the last N candles. Best for active intraday context.
- Anchored profile — anchors to a specific candle or date. Best for session, week, or event-based analysis.
- Composite profile — multiple anchored profiles overlaid. Best for finding repeat HVN/POC zones.
Settings Reference
| Setting | Default | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| Profile Mode | Rolling | Rolling / Anchored / Composite. |
| Lookback | 200 candles | How far back to aggregate volume. |
| Value Area % | 70 | Standard 70% value area highlighting. |
| Show POC | On | Render the point of control as a horizontal line. |
SMRT Oscillator
Pro ExclusiveSMRT Oscillator displays momentum calculations, divergences and changes in trend readings using a WaveTrend-based approach. Its overlays provide technical context rather than predictions of reversals.
The tool combines calculated momentum, slope and price-pressure readings with color fills and descriptive labels. These describe the available chart data, not future market behavior.
Core Concept
At its heart, the SMRT Oscillator is a WaveTrend-based momentum system enhanced with four engines working in concert:
- Divergence analysis — detects when price and momentum disagree
- Heikin Ashi market bias — filters short-term noise and defines background direction
- Momentum angle and velocity tracking — measures slope and acceleration of the curve
- Real-time AI-style interpretation — translates raw math into readable momentum labels
The system doesn't just tell you where momentum is — it tells you how it's changing: growing, slowing, or reversing.
Structure And Components
| Engine | Purpose | Description |
|---|---|---|
| WaveTrend Oscillator | Core momentum tracker | Detects overbought/oversold conditions and measures the strength of movement. |
| Heikin Ashi Bias Filter | Market trend filter | Removes short-term noise and defines the background bullish or bearish direction. |
| Divergence System | Reversal detector | Finds when price and momentum disagree — both regular and hidden divergences. |
| Momentum Angle Analyzer | Motion interpreter | Measures the slope of momentum change and translates it into the readable "emotion" of the market. |
Mathematical Foundation
The indicator uses a WaveTrend formula. The simplified calculation flow is:
- Price smoothing. The raw price (hlc3 = (high + low + close) / 3) is smoothed twice with an exponential moving average — first for speed (n1), then for smoothness (n2).
- Channel deviation. A measure of how far price deviates from its mean. Represents volatility-adjusted strength.
- WT1 and WT2. WT1 is the fast-moving momentum wave; WT2 is the slow-moving comparison wave.
- Overbought / oversold zones. Defined by two levels (default ±53). Above +53 and below −53 are configured oscillator thresholds; they do not determine valuation or recommend a trade.
- Heikin Ashi bias. A smoothed open-high-low-close calculation determines the general bullish/bearish direction. Used for coloring and divergence confirmation.
Divergence Logic
A divergence occurs when price moves in one direction while momentum moves the opposite way. The SMRT Oscillator detects four types — automatically marked with circle markers and colored lines, labeled Bull or Bear:
| Type | What It Means | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Bullish | Price makes lower lows, but oscillator makes higher lows. | Price and momentum differ; no reversal is assured. |
| Regular Bearish | Price makes higher highs, but oscillator makes lower highs. | Price and momentum differ; no reversal is assured. |
| Hidden Bullish | Price makes a higher low, but oscillator makes a lower low. | A divergence pattern; continuation is not assured. |
| Hidden Bearish | Price makes a lower high, but oscillator makes a higher high. | A divergence pattern; continuation is not assured. |
You don't need to memorize the patterns — the oscillator labels them automatically wherever they form.
Momentum Engine
The momentum engine is what gives the SMRT Oscillator its human-like reading of price behavior. It measures:
- The distance between WT1 and WT2 — momentum pressure
- The angle of the momentum curve — direction and acceleration
- The velocity of change between bars — momentum speed
From these measurements, it builds dynamic labels describing the current state — for example "Momentum rising quickly", "Momentum slowing", or "Momentum flat". Labels appear near the oscillator line or as hoverable text, giving a real-time read of the market's emotional rhythm.
Visual Layout And Colors
| Element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Light cyan fill | Momentum rising — bullish energy increasing. |
| Pink / red fill | Momentum falling — bearish pressure increasing. |
| Gray zone | Flat or indecisive momentum. |
| Green labels | Momentum acceleration upward. |
| Red labels | Momentum deceleration or bearish turn. |
| Magenta circles | Bearish divergence points. |
| Aqua circles | Bullish divergence points. |
The gradient fill dynamically changes transparency and tone to reflect how strong momentum is — faint color means a weak trend, deep bright color means strong momentum.

| Main Logic | Choose between Momentum Divergence (focused on reversal detection) and Momentum Volume (focused purely on speed and direction of momentum). |
| Main Colors | Customize bullish and bearish colors for chart visibility. |
Momentum Divergence Settings
| Setting | Default | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Channel Length (n1) | 10 | How fast the indicator reacts to price. Lower = more reactive. |
| Average Length (n2) | 21 | Controls the smoothness of the WT2 line. Higher = smoother. |
| Reaction To Change Of Direction (src) | 1 | Adjusts how quickly direction changes are detected. |
| Levels (nsc / nsv) | 53 / −53 | Define overbought (top) and oversold (bottom) boundaries. |
| Show Divergence Line | True | Draws visual divergence connections between highs/lows. |
| Show High/Low Levels | True | Draws the +53 and −53 guide lines. |
| Show Reversals | True | Highlights when WT1 crosses WT2 inside the overbought/oversold zones. |
| Show Prediction | True | Displays a label summarizing calculated momentum direction; despite its interface name, this is not a prediction of future price. |
| Show Price Flow | True | Adds a gradient flow showing WT1 strength. |
| Show Bull/Bear Labels | True | Adds "Bull" and "Bear" text near divergence points. |
Reading The Output
A WT1/WT2 crossover is a change in the relationship between two calculated lines. Overbought and oversold labels refer to configured thresholds; price can remain beyond a threshold or continue in the same direction.
Divergence means that price and the oscillator move differently. It does not confirm a reversal or continuation. Compare the observation with chart context, and check whether a label requires later bars for confirmation.
Chart Review Example
- Inspect WT1, WT2 and the configured threshold levels.
- Compare a divergence label with the corresponding price highs or lows.
- Review how the reading changes across timeframes and settings.
- Record cases where the subsequent price movement differs from your interpretation.

Pro V4
EssentialPro V4 combines configurable chart markers, trend overlays, a dashboard and adaptive settings. The adaptive calculation changes with available chart data; it does not determine an optimal trade or promise precise entries.
Configured filters and scoring rules determine which chart markers appear. Different versions and settings can produce different timing and frequency. Additional filtering does not establish a higher success rate.
Walkthroughs
Four video walkthroughs covering Pro V4 setup, marker interpretation, the dashboard, the enhancement suite, and how V4 pairs with the rest of the system:
What Prints On The Chart
When you load Pro V4, you'll see buy and sell markers, reversal bands, take-profit levels, and the dashboard table in the bottom-right corner of your chart. The dashboard's position and size are both customizable.
The Dashboard — At A Glance
The dashboard displays five calculated readings:
| Field | What It Tells You |
|---|---|
| Optimal Sensitivity | The adaptive calculation’s displayed sensitivity value. The interface label does not establish an optimal setting or outcome. |
| Strength | Trend strength on a 0–100% scale. Measures bullish or bearish dominance — a quick read on whether the trend has weight behind it. |
| Volume | Volume sentiment vs historical average. Compares the volume reading with its historical baseline. |
| Volatility | Tracks expansion vs contraction. Displays changes in the configured volatility measure. |
| Trend | Bullish or bearish status with a bull/bear icon — for fast alignment with the dominant market bias. |
Marker Inputs
Marker Type
Three modes change filtering and marker frequency:
- Basic — less restrictive filtering
- Normal — balanced, sits between Basic and Advanced
- Advanced — more restrictive filtering
Marker Sensitivity
Same concept as in V3 — controls marker frequency. Higher sensitivity value = fewer markers; lower value = more markers.
Marker Calibration (V4-specific)
A new V4-only input that adjusts for the volatility of the asset. Increasing the value decreases the number of markers; decreasing it increases the number of markers. It also shifts the position of markers earlier or later on the chart, acting as a sort of mini-delay as the indicator waits for confirmation.
Trading Type — Scalp Or Swing
Scalp is the default mode for shorter-term chart setups. Swing uses longer-term filtering for reviewing broader trends.
Label Offset
Controls the distance between the buy/sell label and the candle. Increase to push labels further from price; decrease to bring them closer. Community-requested feature added during V4 beta.
Candle Coloring
Three modes:
- Gradient (default) — bright blue = very bullish, dark blue = sideways/choppy bullish, bright red = very bearish, purple = sideways bearish. Reads market regime at a glance.
- Default — solid blue for bullish, solid red for bearish.
- None — no candle coloring at all.
The Enhancement Suite
Optional filters that remove noise from the buy/sell markers. Each is independent and has its own sensitivity. Don't overload it — 1–2 filters at a time is the recommended approach.
| Filter | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Fibonacci Number | Applies Fibonacci-based filtering to price fluctuations. Higher values add smoothing and delay; lower values respond more quickly. |
| Linear Regression | Finds overall trend direction using a regression line and looks at volatility. Keeps you in strong trends and avoids choppy sideways noise. Higher value = follows longer-term trend; lower = reacts more quickly. |
| Trend Ranges | Looks at price relative to its recent range. Shows whether the market is in bull or bear mode. Higher values require larger changes before a marker can appear. |
| True Range | Measures market volatility. Markers only trigger when there's enough movement — applies the configured movement threshold. |
| Liquidity Ratio | Applies a price-pattern condition around prior highs and lows; it does not verify order flow or predict a reversal. |
| Dynamic Flow | Tracks price around adaptive bands (similar to Bollinger Bands) and adjusts markers based on volatility expansion/contraction. Great for breakout and momentum traders. |
| Moving Average | Classic MA crossover filter. Confirms trend direction with EMA crossovers. Higher value = slower, longer-term confirmation. |
Overlay Features (new in V4)
Channel Breaks
Plots dynamic price channels and detects breakout/breakdown points. When price breaks the top channel, that's often the start of a multi-channel break to the upside (and vice versa for the downside). The zones also act as dynamic support and resistance — price often retraces into the lower channel and bounces.
Trend Lines
The channel display plots calculated trend lines and marks qualifying breaks. A channel break is a chart observation, not an entry instruction.
Trend Ribbon (upgraded Power MA)
Trend Ribbon displays a filtered bullish or bearish classification using different colors. Compare it with the chart; the classification does not establish whether to buy or sell.
Reversal Cloud
Reversal Cloud draws bands and marks qualifying interactions with them. A touch or move beyond a band does not mean that a retracement will follow.
Market Stairs
Market Stairs displays sequences of higher highs/lows or lower highs/lows. Use it to compare chart structure; it does not determine a suitable position size.
Trend Trail
Trend Trail plots a changing reference line based on the configured trend calculation. It does not submit stop orders or guarantee an exit price.
Market Structure
Shows changes of character (CoCh) and breaks of structure (BoS). Optional sub-toggles:
- Show Swing — displays pivot highs and pivot lows
- Mapping Structure — switches structure lines between solid and dashed
- Algorithmic Logic — Adjusted Points (default) or Extreme Points. Extreme targets external structures over internal ones.
Risk Manager — Take-Profit & Stop-Loss
Two modes for calculating displayed reference levels:
- Fixed (default) — 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 risk-to-reward ratios with TP and SL labels printed on the chart.
- Dynamic — different TP for each marker, calibrated to that specific setup. No labels — just notifies when each TP is hit.
Fixed and Dynamic modes calculate reference levels differently. Compare their behavior in the chart; neither mode establishes an appropriate exit or a maximum loss.
Risk Manager Settings
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Mode | Fixed or Dynamic — see above. |
| Fill Areas | Toggle the colored fill on TP and SL zones. |
| Remove Exits | Hide the previous TP/SL dots once they've been hit. |
| Sensitivity | Increase to widen the gap between entry, TP, and SL; decrease to tighten. |
Alerts (upgraded in V4)
V4 alerts can include the chart symbol, direction and calculated reference levels when configured conditions occur. Review the chart and settings before interpreting a notification; the alert is not a complete or personalized trade plan.
Available alert types:
- Buy / Sell / Both markers
- All TP hits or specific TP1 / TP2 / TP3
- Stop-Loss hits
- Channel Break events
- Trend shifts (via Trend Trail)
To create an alert: configure your alert preferences in the indicator settings, then click the three-dot menu next to the indicator → Add Alert → Any function call → Create. See the Setting Up Alerts page for the full walkthrough.
Example Configurations
| Style | Example Filter Stack |
|---|---|
| Short-Timeframe Study | Fibonacci Number + Moving Average |
| Breakout / Momentum | True Range + Dynamic Flow |
| Trend Following | Linear Regression + Trend Ranges (one at a time) |
| General / All-around | Default Advanced marker type, no filters — let the engine adapt |
How V4 Differs From V3 And V5
Pro V3, V4 and V5 use different calculations and settings. Compare their output on the same chart to understand the differences; agreement between tools does not establish a better trade.
Use Case
Pro V4 brings chart markers, filtering, trend context, reference levels and notifications into one interface for technical review.
Pro V3
EssentialPro V3 combines chart markers, candle coloring, a multi-timeframe dashboard and structure overlays. Select the features relevant to your analysis and review their behavior under different chart conditions.
Key Features
- Buy & Sell Markers with strength markers (+ for strong)
- Candle Coloring — blue for bullish, red for bearish trends
- Adjustable Marker Sensitivity to match your style
- MA Filter for trend-aligned trade filtering
- Multi-Timeframe Dashboard with customizable size
- Trailing Stop-Loss suggestions on the chart
- Power MA for short-term trend tracking
- ChoCh / BoS Detection — Change of Character + Break of Structure
How To Read It
Buy/sell chart markers and the + label identify different categories in the tool’s rules. A stronger category is not a measured probability of success. Candle coloring and the dashboard add trend context for review.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
Signal Sensitivity | Controls how frequently buy/sell markers fire. Lower = more selective, higher = more frequent. |
| MA Filter Length | Length of the trend filter. Only takes markers aligned with this MA when enabled. |
| Power MA Period | Period for the short-term Power MA used for fast trend tracking. |
| Dashboard Size | Adjust the multi-timeframe dashboard footprint on your chart. |
| Trailing SL Parameters | Tune the trailing stop distance and behavior. |
| Market Structure Display | Toggle ChoCh / BoS lines and labels on/off. |
Use Case
Pro V3 provides markers, trend bias and structure views in one interface. You can compare those readings with other tools; combining indicators does not ensure better outcomes.
MTF Supply & Demand
EssentialThe Multi-Timeframe Supply & Demand indicator identifies key supply and demand zones across multiple timeframes and renders them on your current chart — without you needing to switch timeframes. It combines pullback logic for zone detection, dynamic support/resistance, and built-in multi-level TP/SL management into one tool.
Key Features
- Auto-highlighted supply & demand zones based on price-action logic
- Multi-timeframe display — see HTF zones on your active chart
- Customizable timeframe selection per indicator instance
- Dynamic S/R levels with multi-level TP/SL outputs
- Pullback logic for cleaner zone determination
- Real-time zone updates as new structure forms
How To Use It
Choose the higher timeframe to display on your current chart. The tool draws detected supply and demand zones as direction-colored boxes. Compare these with other chart observations; zones can be crossed without a reversal.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Timeframe Selection | Choose the higher timeframe to pull zones from. Common: 1 step up from your chart. |
| Zone Sensitivity | How strict the zone-detection rule is. Higher = fewer, stronger zones. |
| Display Options | Toggle individual zone categories, change colors, set max zones to display. |
| S/R Levels | Customize the dynamic support/resistance line behavior. |
| TP / SL Levels | Configure the multi-level take-profit and stop-loss outputs. |
Use Case
Use the tool to compare higher-timeframe zones with your current chart. A nearby zone does not establish a suitable entry or predict the next move.
Reversal Finder
EssentialReversal Finder uses mean/deviation calculations, configurable bands and bar-pattern conditions to mark chart setups. Its name describes the analytical use case, not an ability to identify future tops or bottoms.
Key Features
- Color-coded reversal bands (green / yellow / red) showing overextension severity
- Dynamic bands that adjust in real time to current volatility
- Configurable sensitivity — controls how many confirmation candles are needed
- Independent buy & sell sensitivities for asymmetric tuning
- Mean & deviation calculations for band placement
- Bar-pattern conditions for chart markers
How To Read The Bands
The colored bands show different distances from the calculated mean. Chart markers depend on band interactions and configured conditions. A wider deviation does not establish a reversal probability; price may continue moving away from the mean.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Sensitivity | Controls confirmation candles needed before a marker prints. Higher values require more confirmation bars and can delay markers. |
| Buy Sensitivity | Independent setting for long markers — useful in strongly trending markets. |
| Sell Sensitivity | Independent setting for short markers. |
| Band Threshold Parameters | Tune the exact deviation thresholds for the green/yellow/red bands. |
| Reversal Zone Display | Toggle and customize how zones render on the chart. |
Use Case
Use Reversal Finder to study deviations from the mean alongside other chart context. A second indicator agreeing with a marker does not establish a stronger financial outcome.
Scalper Strategy
EssentialScalper Strategy is a TradingView strategy for exploring configured rules in Strategy Tester. Compare Pro-Trend and Contrarian modes, adjust take-profit and stop-loss parameters, and review historical simulations. Simulated results are hypothetical and do not predict live outcomes.
Key Features
- Backtesting via TradingView Strategy Tester
- Performance metrics — net profit, max drawdown, profit factor, win rate
- Pro-Trend and Contrarian modes — strategy logic switch
- Advanced TP methods — percent-based or Donchian Channel
- Multiple SL methods with customizable parameters
- Position-size and stop/target inputs for historical simulations
Pro-Trend Vs Contrarian Modes
Pro-Trend and Contrarian modes apply different directional rules. Compare them in Strategy Tester across multiple periods and market conditions. Include realistic costs and slippage where supported, inspect execution assumptions and avoid selecting settings solely for favorable historical results.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Strategy Mode | Pro-Trend / Contrarian — toggles the directional bias of the strategy. |
| TP Method | Normal (percent-based) or Donchian Channel. Compare the resulting reference levels and simulation assumptions. |
| TP Level (%) | Take-profit distance as a percentage of entry when in Normal mode. |
| SL Method | Stop-loss method — percent-based or alternative methods. |
| Position Size | How much capital to allocate per trade in the backtest. |
Use Case
Exploring short-timeframe strategy rules on 1-minute through 15-minute charts. Compare modes and settings, inspect simulated trades, and review the assumptions behind each test.
V1 Algo
EssentialV1 Algo combines standard and additional-filter chart markers with dynamic support/resistance and calculated TP/SL reference levels. The categories describe which rules were met, not the chance of a profitable trade.
Key Features
- Standard markers — pullback logic at average price levels
- Confirmed markers (x) — additional filtering conditions
- MA Filter for trend-aligned marker generation
- Dynamic support & resistance with chart background plotting
- Pre-calculated TP & SL levels for every marker
- Pullback zone detection baked into the marker logic
- Toggle confirmed-only mode for the most selective entries
Standard Vs Confirmed Markers
Standard and confirmed categories use different conditions. The confirmed category adds filtering and may produce fewer markers. The word “confirmed” refers to the configured criteria, not a verified outcome or a higher win rate.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
Confirmed Signals Toggle | Show only confirmed (x) markers or both. Confirmed-only is the most selective mode. |
| MA Filter Length | Length of the trend filter MA. Common: 50 or 100 EMA. |
| S/R Calculation Parameters | Tune the dynamic support/resistance band sensitivity. |
| TP / SL Level Inputs | Customize the pre-calculated take-profit and stop-loss distances. |
| Pullback Zone Sensitivity | How wide the pullback zone for marker triggers is. |
Use Case
V1 provides chart markers and reference levels for technical review. Availability and behavior depend on settings and data; the display does not establish suitability for any individual trade.
SMRT MACD
EssentialSMRT MACD focuses on a smoothed histogram to display calculated momentum and directional changes. Smoothing can reduce short-term changes while adding delay; it does not prevent losses or false interpretations.
Key Features
- Histogram-focused — no fast/slow MA lines to clutter the chart
- Reduced sensitivity to price fluctuations and short-term noise
- Trend continuation markers — describe the configured directional conditions
- Momentum-change markers via histogram color changes
- Smoothed histogram for fewer, more meaningful changes
- Color-coded — blue for bullish bias, red for bearish bias
- Smoothed readings during counter-trend price changes
Why The Histogram Focus Matters
The histogram changes according to its calculation and settings. Compare its direction and color changes with price context. The indicator does not hold, close or manage positions.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Histogram Smoothing | Higher smoothing can reduce color changes and add delay. |
Signal Threshold | How far the histogram must move before a marker fires. |
| Bullish / Bearish Colors | Customize the color scheme to match your chart theme. |
| Alerts | Configure notifications when histogram colors change. |
Use Case
Use SMRT MACD to compare momentum readings with price and other indicators. Agreement between displays is an observation, not proof that a trend will continue.
Swing Algo
EssentialSwing Algo combines bar coloring, two marker categories, an EMA filter and calculated TP/SL reference levels. Review how settings affect the output on your chosen timeframe; the displayed ratios do not include every cost or execution effect.
Key Features
- Bar coloring — red bearish, green bullish for instant trend bias
- Two-tier marker strength — weak and strong categories reflect different configured thresholds
- EMA filter for filtering displayed directional conditions
- Pre-calculated TP1, TP2, TP3 levels printed on the chart
- Pre-calculated SL level matched to risk-reward profile
- Designed for higher timeframes (1H+) to filter intraday noise
Weak Vs Strong Markers
Weak and strong are labels for different rule thresholds. They do not express measured probabilities or recommend a trade. Review both categories against the chart and settings before drawing conclusions.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| EMA Filter Toggle | Turn the trend-alignment filter on/off. |
| EMA Filter Length | Length of the trend EMA. Common: 50 or 100 on the 4h timeframe. |
Signal Strength Threshold | Minimum strength score before a "strong" marker prints. |
| Risk-Reward Ratio | Configure the R:R the TP levels are calculated from. Default targets give 1:1 / 1:2 / 1:3 R:R. |
| TP1 / TP2 / TP3 Levels | Customize the three take-profit distances individually. |
| SL Level | Stop-loss distance — typically derived from recent swing. |
Use Case
Swing Algo provides a view of directional conditions and calculated reference levels. Compare its output with other timeframes as part of your own analysis.
Trend Pivot Oscillator
EssentialTrend Pivot Oscillator (TPO) displays momentum thresholds and pivot-based chart markers. These can help you compare pullbacks and trend conditions, but do not pinpoint future reversals or establish when to add to a position.
Key Features
- Overbought / oversold zone detection with pivot-aware thresholds
- Green dots mark configured oversold conditions
- Red dots mark configured overbought conditions
- Repeated marker display within active trends
- Pullback & consolidation detection for short-term reset points
- Trend confirmation when oscillator + price agree
How To Read The Dots
Green and red dots identify conditions defined by the oscillator. Compare them with the prevailing trend and configured thresholds. Overbought and oversold readings can persist and do not predict a price turn.
Settings Reference
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Sensitivity | Affects how aggressive the overbought/oversold calculation is. Higher = more dots, lower = more selective. |
| L [1–3] | Short-TPO marker sensitivity tier. Use higher L for cleaner, less frequent dots. |
| Zone Thresholds | Customize the exact OB/OS bands. |
| Display & Color | Toggle dot visibility, customize colors to match your chart. |
Reviewing Repeated Markers
Several dots can appear during one trend. Record when each becomes available and compare it with the surrounding price action. Repeated dots are not instructions to add to a position; increasing exposure also increases potential losses.
Use the tool to study momentum changes alongside other chart context. Neither a single marker nor agreement between tools establishes a profitable entry.

Troubleshooting
I Don't See SMRT Algo Indicators In TradingView
Make sure your TradingView account is linked correctly in your SMRT Algo dashboard. If you've just linked, wait 5–10 minutes and refresh TradingView. Check under Indicators → Invite-Only Scripts, not the public scripts list.
The Indicator Loaded But No Markers Are Printing
Check that the indicator is enabled, the correct inputs are selected and enough chart data is available. Some conditions may not occur for a period of time. Consult the current tool documentation or support before changing settings; do not lower a threshold just to produce a trade.
Chart Markers Look Different From An Example
